Creating a Bespoke Engagement Ring

As Lilia designs and handmakes each ready-to-wear piece that leaves our workshop in Cornwall, she offers only a limited number of bespoke commissions each year, by application only. And one of them could be yours.
A bespoke design allows you to take inspiration from one of Lilia’s best-selling designs and make it your own.
Step 1

Each designer has their own unique design style and you've hopefully been inspired by some of Lilia's ring designs on her social media channels.
Take a look through Lilia's gallery of past and present designs below, to see if any are close to the design you had in mind. Our clients quite often choose elements from different designs, such as a style of setting, finish on a band or colour/shape of gemstone, to create a completely unique ring.
Considerations
METAL
Does your partner prefer gold or a silver colour metal? Lilia works with sustainable solid 18ct yellow, white or rose gold and 950 platinum.
GEMSTONE
Consider your partner's favourite type or colour of gem and the prefered shape. Lilia specialises in sapphires, diamonds and rubies, both natural and lab grown. Other gemstones are considered too soft for everyday wear.
RING SIZE
Try to obtain an accurate finger measurement, either by asking a friend or family member or by measuring a ring that fits your partner's engagement ring finger (or the finger the ring is intended for). If your partner is aware she's getting a ring you can borrow our professional finger measuring gauge or visit a High Street store. We've produced a handy guide in the link below.

BUDGET
We will do all we can to create your perfect engagement ring within your budget. Occasionally, there are constraints with being able to source specific gems within certain budget ranges. Bespoke rings are generally priced higher than rings in our ready to wear collection, starting from £3000.

Step 3
Design Consultation
If you’d like some guidance or would rather view our ring designs and collection of loose gemstones in person, you can arrange a consultation at our Consultation Studio.
If you are happy to undertake the design process via email, telephone and/or online, you’ll need an idea of how you'd like your ring to look (choice of metal, stones, setting etc.)
Lilia’s team will be on hand to guide you through the rest of the design process so it’s easy and hassle-free - whether you've already popped the question or are waiting to propose.
Step 4
Making your Ring
Your ring will be expertly handmade by Lilia using traditional goldsmithing techniques. Unlike jewellers elsewhere Lilia makes each component by hand. A cast ring can be made in a few hours however a handmade ring takes many days to complete. This is the reason we can offer a five year workmanship warranty on all of our jewellery.
Please allow up to 10-12 weeks from the initial order to shipping. Your ring will be hallmarked by the Birmingham Assay office - your guarantee that the metals in the ring are as stated.
We offer free next working day delivery on all custom made rings.
Resizing
We know that buying a ring as a gift can be difficult, especially if you're not sure of the exact size. Most Lilia Nash rings can be adjusted up to 2 sizes larger or smaller for a small fee, so that you can gift your ring with confidence. Click the link below to find out more about ring resizing.
